Harvesting Rain

A while back when it was raining, I wondered if some instrument could be built to sense rainfall on the roof of a house and translate the pressure of the raindrops and rate of rainfall into music somehow. Instead of trying to build that instrument, I decided to write a piece about what I imagine it might sound like. Harvesting Rain is not an attempt at transcribing rainfall patterns or using algorithms to translate rainfall into music; it is just my idea of what potential sounds this imaginary instrument could make.
