Alexis Lamb receives Morton Gould Young Composer Award and performs at the 2018 ASCAP Foundation Honors ceremony

Arcomusical is pleased to share that Alexis Lamb is a winner of the 2018 Morton Gould Young Composer Awards for her berimbau composition cycle Meia. The six compositions that make up Meia are half of the twelve tracks on the album MeiaMeia (the term “meia” being Portuguese for “half-dozen”). Alexis was also selected to perform at the ASCAP Foundation Honors ceremony on Wednesday, December 12 as a representative of the Morton Gould Young Composer Award. Out of Meia Alexis performed her solo composition titled um só. New York-based freelance music journalist Jim Bessman wrote a great review of the awards ceremony in his blog titled Centerline. Everyone in Arcomusical is so proud of Alexis and all of her accomplishments. Go Alexis! ❤️❤️❤️
