Sazi Dlamini is a Senior Lecturer in Music at Kwa-Zulu Natal University. He is the principal of the Bow Music Foundation. The Foundation hosted the Bow Music Conference at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2016 and again in 2018. The conference is a pioneering international gathering of researchers and bow music performers open to the public. The 2016 edition saw paper presentations, workshops and discussions at the university’s Innovation Centre focussing on a diverse topics on global musical practices while performances at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre showcased different bow music styles from as far afield as Zimbabwe, Brazil, the US, South Africa, Lesotho and Mozambique. The 2018 edition coincided with the SASRIM Conference held at KZN in August of that year.
