South African church musician and ethnomusicologist David Dargie created an exhaustive collection of over four hundred hours of field recordings of musical bows from throughout the Southern African region. His choice recordings make up the nearly 40 CD “David Dargie Collection,” published by the International Library of African Music. These CDs are accompanied by booklets of extensive musical transcriptions, analyses, and commentary on both the music and the musicians and the cultures represented therein.
