Brian Wach is a percussionist, composer, arranger, and educator in the Chicagoland area. He completed a Bachelor’s in Percussion Performance at Northern Illinois University and has returned to pursue a graduate degree in recording arts.
As a composer, Brian has contributed extensively to the percussion repertoire with a variety of cutting edge recital solos and ensemble works. He was recently featured as an emerging composer during one of Fulcrum Point’sDiscoveriesSessions for his percussion trio, Group Therapy for One.
In an effort to support the creation and appreciation of new music for percussion, Brian Wach created, hosted, and produced the program, Percussion x Percussion. The concert featured music written and performed by the students and faculty of the NIU Percussion Studio and included four world premieres.
Within his neighboring suburbs of Chicago, Brian Wach is a frequently sought out drum set player for local musical productions. Performing extensively with Western Springs’s Music Makers, Brian has participated in such shows as Rent, The Wiz, Spring Awakening, West Side Story, Little Shop of Horrors, Hairspray and many more.
In 2009, along with his percussion partner, Angela Kepley, Brian Wach co-founded the Double Resonance Percussion Duo. With the goal of spreading percussion awareness and education to people of all ages and to create and share new percussion works, Double Resonance actively performs and educates through the means of recitals, school assemblies, private events, and lessons. Every summer they host the Double Resonance Summer Percussion Ensemble Camp, as well as instruct high school drum lines.
